Delete your data

Decibly: Sound Meter & dB (com.techdev.decibly) · developer TechDev · Privacy policy

Data on your phone

Decibly has no accounts. Your sessions (levels, events, notes, places you typed), spots, calibration profiles, settings and any event clips you chose to save are stored only on your phone. Audio and clips are never sent anywhere. To delete your data, do either of these:

Reports and images you exported or shared are not touched; delete them where you saved or sent them.

Crash reports and analytics (Firebase)

The app sends crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and general usage analytics (Firebase Analytics), linked to a random app installation ID and the advertising ID, not to your name or e-mail. No audio, clip, level or session is included. To have this data deleted:

  1. E-mail tecdroiddeveloper@gmail.com with the subject “Decibly data deletion request”.
  2. We reply within 30 days and delete the crash and analytics data we can match to your request in Firebase. Because the app has no accounts, we may ask for details such as the date and time you used the app or your phone model to find it.

Without a request, Firebase deletes this data automatically: crash reports after 90 days and user-level analytics data after 2 months. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings › Google › Ads (or Settings › Privacy › Ads).

What is kept

Nothing. We keep no other copy of your data, and we never sell or share it.
